Music executive, Obi Asika has said that the current generation of internationally successful artists would not have existed if it weren’t for veteran Nigerian singers.
According to the talent manager, Burna Boy is dancehall musician Daddy Showkey’s regeneration, while Afrobeats superstar Wizkid is D’Banj’s.
In a recent Hip TV episode of Trending, Obi Asika, the founder of Storm Records, evaluated the state of the Nigerian music scene and its development.
He said; “Tuface has a grass to grace story, the same with Daddy Showkey. These are legends. You can’t have a Burna Boy without a Daddy Showkey. You can’t have a Wizkid without Dbanj. You can’t have Davido without these legends like P-Square.”
In other news, Nigerian artist and rapper Terry G, has made a confession about his infidelity in a recent interview.
Speaking on “The Honest Bunch” podcast with Nedu, Terry G openly admitted to cheating on his partner, despite having deep love and respect for her.
During the interview, Terry G emphasized that he does not consider himself a Gospel artist, hinting that his lifestyle choices may not align with strict moral standards.
He acknowledged having a baby mama whom he holds in high regard, treating her with the same respect as if they were married.
