Several dignitaries, family and friends recently came together to celebrate the 65th birthday of a former First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi.
The festivities, comprising a thanksgiving service, an elegant dinner, and a concert, took place in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, April 5, 2024. The venue was adorned with spectacular decorations which added finesse to the event.
Dressed in an all-white ensemble, accentuated with a turquoise blue necklace and bangles, Ajimobi exuded class as she danced her way into the venue, drawing cheers from guests.
One of the memorable moments during the event was when the celebrant’s grandchildren took to the stage to express their heartfelt gratitude.
As family and friends sang a birthday song, showering her with prayers and well-wishes, Ajimobi’s face lit up with joy, evidently basking in the love and affection shown to her.
Meanwhile, the thanksgiving service witnessed special prayers offered for the birthday girl by Prelate Sunday Makinde, who drew inspiration from Psalm 20; while Pastor Bolaji Idowu led another heartfelt prayer for her and her family.
In a brief exhortation, Apostle Samuel Popoola extolled Ajimobi’s remarkable administrative prowess, highlighting her indispensable role as the backbone of her late husband’s accomplishments. He said, “We thank God for your life. She is a seeker of excellence. She pays attention to details in whatever she does. I admire her administrative skills and her organisational skills. The late Senator Abiola Ajimobi (her husband and former Oyo State Governor) did not hide the fact that she was the strong pillar behind his successes.”
The festivities continued with guests, dressed in white and pink attire, joining the celebrant on the dance floor, swaying to melodious tunes belted out by the live band.
Among the distinguished guests who graced the occasion were the wife of a former Vice President of Nigeria, Dolapo Osinbajo; a former Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola; a former Chairman of First Bank Nigeria, Ibukun Awosika; and a former President of Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nike Akande.
