A United Kingdom-based Nigerian promoter and the Chief Executive Officer of Baron International, Olamide Baron, has said that promoting afrobeats music is both his business and lifestyle.
In a statement sent to Sunday Scoop, Baron stated that he had taken afrobeats music to over 20 cities around Europe. He said, “The goal has been to entertain people by bringing them close to their favourite singers through concerts and other events. As we do this, we are able to take afrobeats around the world through music promotions. In the process, we discover new artistes and help them grow to become superstars.
“Promotion is my business and my lifestyle. I hope to discover as many talents as possible, watch them grow into superstars, and manage them. I also want to host the biggest festivals in the world.”
The showbiz personality added that he had contributed to the growth of a number afrobeats stars. He said, “I have contributed to the growth of some of big afrobeats stars when they were just came on the scene.”
Recalling the genesis of his career, he said, “It all started back at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State, in 2008.
“That was when promoting music, and entertainment in general began for me. I was key to getting any artiste to perform on campus back then.”
