In the wake of a devastating boat mishap resulting in the loss of life of Mr. John Paul Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, and four other crew members, the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), has taken swift action. The incident occurred at the waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10th, 2024, during the filming of “The Other Side of Life,” produced by Adamma Luke.
In response, the AGN, under the leadership of Dr. Ejezie Emeka Rollas MON, National President, has announced several decisive measures: Suspension of all films involving riverine areas and boat riding indefinitely. No shoot permitted on all locations nationwide on April 11th, 2024. Indefinite suspension of the film titled “Another Side of Life.” Prohibition on actors collaborating with Adamma Luke as a producer until further notice. The Guild extends condolences and prayers to the families of the deceased, with hopes for the recovery of any missing persons.
The AGN remains committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of its members and emphasizes the need for stringent safety measures on film sets.
