The state party Chairman, Dr. Kingsley Esiso, while inaugurating the committees at the party’s state secretariat in Asaba, the state capital, noted that the inauguration became necessary “in line with the party’s guidelines and constitution, after the extraordinary National Executive Council meeting in Abuja where the party resolved to give three months interim stay before holding elected party congress.”
Esiso also charged the newly inaugurated Ward and Local Government PDP executive members to work assiduously to justify the confidence reposed in them.
While noting that the State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori “is very committed and ready to carry everyone along, because he is a governor for all,” Esiso disclosed that the Governor has assured of “his unalloyed resolve to do more for all Deltans, most especially the party executive members.”
The chairman prayed to God to guide the newly inaugurated committees in the right direction and grant them the “wisdom and courage to build a strong PDP in Delta State.”
On Tuesday, PDP caucus members in the House of Representatives met at the National Assembly Complex, Abuja.
The meeting was held hours ahead of a media parley slated for the same day (Tuesday) by 60 lawmakers loyal to the Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.
Also, the PDP governorship candidate in Edo State, Asue Ighodalo, on Monday, commended party leaders and stakeholders for their honest opinions on ways to resolve the party’s internal issues ahead of the September 21 election in the state.
Ighodalo, who stated this in Benin at a meeting with party leaders from Akoko Edo, urged them not to rest until all internal crises in the party were fully resolved, adding that the PDP remained the only party that could rescue the nation.
