Three Nigerian students in the United Kingdom have unveiled a startup to offer health care services to the elderly.
The founder of the startup, Damilola Olaopa, and his two co-founders, Hameed Abdulrahaman and Samuel Isatayo, are Master’s students in the UK.
A statement made available to The PUNCH on Thursday said Olaopa conceived the idea after a colleague who worked as a health care assistant lost his dad on October 1, 2023
Damilola said there were plans underway for the startup to be expanded across Europe and to other countries like the US and Canada.
“For now, the startup is for Nigerians in Diaspora, especially in the UK. We are presently registered here. Sandfortcare Limited is incorporated under the Companies Act 2006 as a private company and it is limited by shares and the situation of its registration is in Scotland,” he disclosed
Abdulrahaman added, “Sandfortcare is a health care startup dedicated to offering personalised and compassionate healthcare and support service to the parents of Nigerians living in the UK. The Startup ensures parents in Nigeria receive the highest quality of care tailored to their unique needs so that the Children in the UK can have peace of mind knowing their parents are in good health condition.
Also, Isatayo added that for a monthly subscription fee, the parents in Nigeria would be the beneficiaries and would get a personalised care and support plan, regular health checks, nutrition and meal planning, remote consultation, and medication management while the family member resident in the UK who is sponsor gets a timely parent wellness report.
