The Nigerian film industry is set to bid farewell to one of its finest, Dr. Frank Okpokoro Vaughan, who passed away on 2nd April, 2024.
He was age of 61 years old.
According to the burial arrangement announced by the families of John Otuateme Okpokoro and Emaino from Ozoro, Isoko-North LGA Delta State, said the renowned filmmaker will be interred in his family house.
According to a statement signed by Philip Okpokoro, a veteran cinematographer and series director of “Nigerian Idols,” on behalf of the family and made available to GATMASH NEWS states that the burial arrangements are as follows:
– Date: Friday, May 3rd, 2024
– 10:00 am: Departure of the Corpse from the Morgue to the family compound at No.50, Ototie Street, Etevie, Ozoro, Delta State
– 11:00 am: Church Service in the Family’s Compound
– Interment to follow immediately
Until his death, Dr. Frank Napoleon Asehaigho Okpokoro, known as Frank Okpokoro Vaughan, was a distinguished figure in the Nigerian film industry.
As a former Vice President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), he dedicated his life to advancing the art of filmmaking in Nigeria. His legacy includes remarkable contributions to the Nigerian entertainment ecosystem, shaping the industry and nurturing aspiring filmmakers.
His passing marks a significant loss for the Nigerian film community. Since his demise, tributes have been pouring in from colleagues, friends, and fans who mourn the departure of a true visionary. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
