A video has emerged online of how men of the Nigeria Police Force, NPF, treated popular singer, Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, during his arrest.
A trending footage showed police operatives manhandling the singer after he attempted to flee.
On Tuesday, men of the Lagos State Police Command had apprehended the Zazzu crooner for refusing to pay the debt he incurred when he purchased a Mercedes G-Wagon from a car dealer in the state.
Confirming Portable’s arrest, the Command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, said the singer only paid N13 million out of the N27 million for the car, adding that he has refused to pay the N14 million balance.
He explained that whenever the car dealer contacted him to pay the balance, he usually claimed that the vehicle was bad.
Hundeyin said, “Portable has been arrested. He bought G-Wagon for N27m, paid N13m, and refused to pay the rest, claiming the vehicle was bad. We arrested him today.”
