Former international, Emmanuel Babayaro has revealed why Daniel Amokachi rejected his appointment as Super Eagles assistant coach.
Babayaro said the reason is because of the demeaning terms.
Amokachi was appointed as one of the assistant coaches to Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George in May.
The former forward has however failed to join the team in preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin Republic.
Babayaro said the ”Da Bull” as the former Everton striker was fondly called during his active days turned down the offer after he was recently presented by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with the job conditions.
The conditions according to Babayaro included no salary and his involvement with the team will be based on the discretion of the head coach.
“How demeaning can these conditions be?” Babayaro wrote on social media.
“Amokachi said yes to the appointment as the Super Eagles assistant coach but an emphatic no to the demeaning conditions attached thereto.”
