The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has pledged to improve the welfare of his personnel and their families.
Abubakar stated that several projects aimed at enhancing their welfare had been inaugurated, adding that more are in the pipeline.
The NAF chief stated this at the inauguration of state-of-the-art sewage treatment plants and lift stations built by Biotech in Abuja on Tuesday.
Abubakar noted that the projects were in line with his desire to maintain a motivated force by enhancing their welfare.
He said, “During the recently concluded NAF Week which was celebrated last month, a number of projects were commissioned within the Estate.
“All these projects were executed with the sole motive of enhancing the welfare of our personnel and their families in line with my desire to ‘Maintain a Highly Motivated Force by Enhancing Welfare and Infrastructural Renewal’ which is one of the key enablers to my Command Philosophy. ”
The Chief Executive Officer of the company, Aanu Talabi said the commissioning of the new facilities marks a pivotal advancement in the pursuit of a circular economy.
Talabi said, “The commissioning of these facilities symbolises a significant step towards realizing a circular economy where waste is not merely disposed of but transformed into valuable resources.
“This approach will not only help in conserving our precious resources thereby reducing the demand for fresh water, promoting sustainable water management practices while also mitigating the impacts of climate change.”
Talabi noted that the new facilities were important to having a resilient future.
He said, “These sewage treatment plants and lift stations are not merely infrastructural additions, they are pivotal elements in our journey towards a sustainable and resilient future. The importance of these facilities cannot be overstated.
“By effectively managing and treating wastewater, these plants will significantly reduce health risks associated with untreated sewage. This will lead to a healthier environment, thereby improving the overall well-being of the residents.”
