Kano State Fire Service on Tuesday confirmed that a fire outbreak completely razed nine classes and six offices at School of Technology located at Mayan Fada Road.
The Public Relations Officer of the service, Saminu Yusuf Abdullahi, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said the agency received a distress call from Faisal Dauda that there was a fire incident at the School of Technology.
“Upon receiving the information, we quickly mobilised a team of firefighters to the scene to put off the fire.”
Furthermore, Abdullahi explained that a building of about 500 X 500ft used as nine classes, six offices totalling 15, were completely consumed by the fire.
While stating that no life was lost, he, however, said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
In December 2023, many traders were reported to have lost their goods and property worth millions of naira in a fire disaster that gutted 22 shops in Gwarzo market, headquarters of Gwarzo Local Government Area of Kano State.
The inferno had thrown the victims into mourning as many of them were said to have lost millions of naira to the disaster.
The Zonal Information Officer of Gwarzo Local Government Area, Rabiu Khalil, confirmed the incident in a statement.
“The fire started at midnight of last Sunday and it took the state fire service personnel up to Monday morning before they could finally put it out,” the statement said.
