Brentford’s midfield maestro, Frank Onyeka, has cemented his place in the club’s record books, emerging as the fastest Bee in the just-concluded 2023/24 Premier League season, PUNCH Sports Extra reports.
In a recent post made by the Premier League on their official Instagram page, they posted all the fastest runs by each club and Onyeka emerged the fastest for Brentford.
Onyeka clocked a blistering 36.11km/h during Brentford’s clash against Arsenal on March 9, leaving the competition in his dust.
Others include Arsenal youngster Gabriel Martinelli recorded 36.32km/h top speed while Moussa Diaby was Villa’s fastest with 36.43km/h. Illia Zabarnyi proved defenders can be quick too, clocking 36.61km/h for Bournemouth.
Jakub Moder showcased a top speed of 36.83km/h for Brighton, Burnley defender Dara O’Shea wasn’t afraid to get forward, reaching a top speed of 36.72km/h while Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk clocked 35.71km/h.
Veteran defender Nathaniel Clyne showed he still has some gas in the tank, reaching 34.49km/h for Crystal Palace, Everton’s Amadou Onana had a top speed of 36.65km/h, Fulham’s Harry Wilson recorded 36.22km/h and Liverpool’s midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai proved a creative force with a top speed of 36.76km/h.
Luton Town’s Chiedozie Ogbene recorded a top speed of 36.94km/h, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland had a top speed of 36.32km/h, Manchester United’s Diogo Dalot recorded a top speed of 35.46km/h and Newcastle youngster Anthony Gordon reached a top speed of 36.68km/h.
This trend continued across the league, with Nottingham Forest’s Anthony Elanga (36.90km/h), Sheffield United’s Cameron Archer (34.70km/h), Tottenham’s Micky van de Ven (37.37km/h), West Ham’s Nayef Aguerd (35.35km/h) and Wolves’ Pedro Neto (36.86km/h) completing the list.
