Gunmen have attacked the residence of the founder of the Nigeria Liberty Movements, Dr. Moses Adebisi, aka ThisDaysMoses, and vandalised property worth millions of naira at his residence on Adewale Falana Street, Ivy Home, around the Megamound area of Lekki County, in the Ikota area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Adebisi and his family members were not at home when the gunmen invaded his premises on June 13, 2023.
During the invasion, the gunmen, upon discovering that Adebisi and his family members were not at home, resorted to damaging his property worth millions of naira.
The gunmen, upon discovering that no one was at home, resorted to damaging property including CCTV camera, security wire, Prado Jeep, Toyota Hummer Bus, doors and other items estimated to be worth over N250m.
An eyewitness, who spoke on the incident anonymously over fear of victimisation, said the gunmen were dressed in military uniforms, adding that they stormed Adebisi’s premises in three vehicles.
The eyewitness said, “The attackers dressed in military uniforms, came with three different cars, and distributed themselves around the house and when they could not get the occupants of the house, they started destroying properties such as cars, CCTV cameras, and doors and then left.”
Lamenting the development, Adebisi said the case had been reported at the Ikota Police Station, adding that no casualty was recorded during the invasion.
He said, “I am only rooted in the services to humanity, it’s not a sin to stand up for what is right in Nigeria. If this is a politically-motivated attack, we would not stop to make the required changes for the country to move in the right direction. Therefore, I am calling on authorities to thoroughly investigate this matter and reassure the common man of safety within and outside Lagos.”
In a video clip recorded after the attack, our correspondent heard the person who recorded the footage saying that the gunmen jumped through the fence of the building to gain entry into the compound, adding that after gaining entry, they damaged some property on the premises of the building.
The vandalised white Prado jeep and CCTV camera were also seen in the video.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, when contacted, said he would get back to our correspondent but had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
