A medical mission team from the United States of America, which includes friends and indigenes of Ijebu Remo in Ogun State, is set to extend a medical outreach to 500 people in several communities in Oyo, Osun, and Ogun States.
The 11th edition of the annual programme will also put the participants under health insurance.
On July 1, 2024, the medical team will be at Oke-Are PHC in Ibadan, the Oyo State-capital, to provide medical services to the people of Oke-Are Community and its surrounding areas. Some of the services include; medical examinations for breast cancer, cervical screening for women, and dental and eye care.
According to a statement on Friday, the team also urged other family members to provide support to ensure the success of the outreach.
The statement partly read, “The Medical team visit to Ibadan is facilitated by Ken and Sara George and Rotary Club of Ibadan-Jericho Metro.
“The Ministry of Health, Ibadan North Local Council, Mogaji Are and other stakeholders have been briefed on the development. Our target is to provide medical services for 500 people and also put them under health insurance. The health insurance is being sponsored by Aworeni family and two members of Are family.
“We have also got the commitment of support from Chief Kako, Baale Onireke, Egbon Mogidi Are and Sister Basira Are. Other family members are also encouraged to provide support to ensure the success of the Medical Outreach.
“Pre-registration for the Medical Outreach has commenced at the Oke-Are PHC. Let us encourage our extended family members to take advantage of the opportunity by going to the Oke-Are PHC to register.”
