Africa Hyperscalers Media announced on Monday the launch of the first Hyperscalers Convergence Africa conference, scheduled for September 5, 2024, in Lagos.
According to the organisers in a statement, the event aims to unite Africa’s digital infrastructure community, promoting collaboration and innovation across data centres, connectivity, cloud services, and related sectors.
It added the conference, themed “The Power of Convergence,” would provide a platform for stakeholders to form partnerships, drive investment, and explore emerging technologies shaping Africa’s digital future.
It noted that sessions would cover topics, such as data centre and cloud development, seamless connectivity, digital infrastructure funding opportunities, and sustainability.
Business Development Executive at Africa Hyperscalers Media, Temilade Ojo, said, “Our mission is clear: to break down silos hindering Africa’s digital growth.
“By convening senior leaders from regulatory bodies, carrier networks, hyperscale operators, and investment firms, we aim to create a unified framework supporting robust digital infrastructure across the continent.”
Speakers at the conference will include COO of IHS, Kazeem Oladepo; the CEO of Open Access Data Centres: Dr. Ayotunde Coker; the CEO of Apolo, Bill Kleyman; the Managing Partner of Xalam Analytics, Guy Zibi; and the Executive for Strategy and Business Operations, Africa Data Centre Wabo Majavu.
Others include the CEO of Liquid Intelligent Technologies, Wole Abu; the CEO of Geniserve, Gbenga Adegbiji; the former group CEO of CSquared, Lanre Kolade; the CEO of inq, Ifeanyi Akosionu; the CMD of Avanti, Reuben Oshomah; and the CEO of Digital Realty Nigeria, Ikechukwu Nnamani.
