Stroke Care International, a leading non-profit organization, which focused on stroke prevention and support, has commemorated World Stroke Day with a comprehensive awareness campaign at Gbagada General Hospital.
The event, themed: “Stroke Prevention through Fitness and Nutrition,” aimed at educating the public on the critical role of physical activity, healthy diet, and lifestyle modifications in preventing stroke. The campaign featured exercises, health talks, and interactive sessions with participants.
However, the Founder of Stroke Care International, Mrs. Gloria Ekeng, stressed the importance of lifestyle changes in preventing stroke.
According to her, “Stroke prevention is a critical health concern, and lifestyle changes can significantly reduce the risk. We urge individuals to prioritize fitness and nutrition to prevent stroke.”
By organizing this event, Stroke Care International aims to raise awareness about stroke prevention and management, educate the public on the importance of fitness and nutrition, provide support to stroke patients and survivors, and promote a healthier lifestyle among the population.
According to Daniel Shittu, Member of Stroke Care International Nigeria said, “We want to encourage people to focus on diet, exercises, and habits to prevent stroke. Stroke is not always caused by external factors, but by our daily habits.”
Titilope Adelaja, Project Manager for Stroke Care International Nigeria, emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing support to stroke patients and survivors. “We provide recommendations, devices, and education to help people manage stroke.”
Abraham Oluwadamilare, Physiotherapist specializing in Neuro-Physiotherapy, delivered a lecture on knowing stroke and prevention strategies.
