Today, November 21, 2024, marks a special day for Ikechukwu Ani, renowned journalist and Public Relations expert, as he celebrates his birthday. This milestone coincides with his recent conferment of the Lifetime Achievement Award in Public Relations by Lagos-based magazine, National Crime Watch.
Ani’s exceptional leadership and professionalism as Head, Press and Public Relations of the Police Service Commission (PSC) earned him this prestigious recognition. His impressive career spans several years, with notable positions including:
He was former chairman of the Edo State Chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria and later Deputy National Chairman. He was Press Secretary to Nigeria’s former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, and worked with various print media outlets across the country.
The Lifetime Achievement Award plaque reads, “Lifetime Achievement Award in Public Relations: In recognition of your exemplary leadership quality in changing the narrative in public relations by keeping the public informed on the activities of the Police Service Commission.”.
Ani expressed gratitude to God, the Management of Police Service Commission, National Crime Watch, and Crime Correspondents in Nigeria for their support and recognition. He also thanked his family for providing him with the peace of mind to navigate challenges.
A graduate of Mass Communication from the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu and holder of a postgraduate degree in Public Administration from the University of Abuja, Ani hails from Enugu State, South East Nigeria.
