Former President Goodluck Jonathan has urged Nigerians to refrain from relocating abroad in search of better opportunities, instead emphasizing the importance of collective effort in nation-building.
Speaking at an event in Karu Local Government Area of Nasarawa State, Jonathan encouraged Nigerians to invest in their country, creating jobs and opportunities for the youth. He reminded them that the countries they’re fleeing to were built by people, and it’s time for Nigerians to take responsibility for building their own nation.
Jonathan’s message was clear: Nigeria’s development depends on the contributions of its citizens. He expressed his concern that abandoning the country would only exacerbate its problems, rather than solving them.
The former president’s comments come at a time when many Nigerians are considering relocating abroad due to economic hardships and lack of opportunities at home. However, Jonathan’s appeal is a call to action, urging citizens to work together to build a better future for Nigeria.

In his words, “You don’t need to Japa. Those countries you are running to were built by people. We must build this country together, and invest in it so that the youths can get jobs. We must not run away from our responsibilities. This country belongs to all of us, and we must not abandon it.”
