
The Nigerian stock market continued its upward trend on Thursday, January 30, 2025, as the NGX All-Share Index (NGXASI) rose by 0.19% to close at 104,744.43 points. This increase was driven by gains in major stocks such as NASCON, TRANSCORP, DANGCEM, OANDO, and NB.
Investors’ wealth also increased by N347.31 billion, with the market capitalization rising to N64.87 trillion. The Year-to-Date return improved to 1.77%, indicating a positive start to the year.
Sectoral Performance
The Industrial Index led the gainers, advancing by 1.16% due to a 2.34% rise in DANGCEM. The Consumer Goods and Insurance indices also closed higher, rising by 0.90% and 0.24%, respectively. However, the Oil & Gas and Banking indices declined by 1.19% and 0.47%, respectively.

Market Activity
Market activity varied, with traded volume increasing by 17.97% to 497.36 million units. However, traded value declined by 21.04% to N11.84 billion.
Market Breadth
The Gainers/Losers ratio increased to 1.56x from 0.68x, with 39 stocks appreciating and 25 stocks depreciating.
Top Gainers

HONYFLOUR rose by 10%, NASCON gained 8.75%, CORNERST advanced by 4.88%, CONOIL increased by 2.20%, and DANGCEM rose by 2.34%.
Top Losers
GUINEAINS declined by 4.16%, RTBRISCOE fell by 3.48%, VERITASKAP lost 2.94%, MAYBAKER declined by 2.53%, and DAARCOMM fell by 2.20%.

Currency Market
The Naira appreciated by 0.79% to close at N510.72 against the US dollar. In the parallel market, the Naira traded at N617.00.
Fixed Income Market
Treasury bills traded on a positive note, with the average yield settling at 23.35%. The bond market remained flat, closing at an average yield of 20.10%.
