Fifty-year-old Nelson Oculu from Lira City left his home in Anai-Okii cell not long after his 42-year-old wife Catherine Akello gave birth to the three baby boys. This brings to seven the number of children the couple has.
According to Catherine, she got home from the Lira Regional Referral Hospital on Wednesday and found the door to their house locked with a new padlock.
“My husband was not at home and when he came back he couldn’t allow us to enter the house and he did not want to listen to anyone either,” Catherine told Daily Monitor. The new mother was offered her brother-in-law’s house to spend the night but she turned it down because the place was far and she was exhausted after giving birth. Nelson and Catherine, who have been married for 20 years, have four other children.
Nelson’s brother Kenneth Kolo disclosed that this is not the first time his sibling is putting a woman through such trouble. “He made his first wife suffer until the woman left,” Kolo revealed. Catherine is currently being accommodated by a neighbour Judith Acio, who admitted to having mercy on the nursing mother after finding her out in the cold with her babies.
