Controversial Nigerian singer, Temmie Ovwasa, otherwise known as YBNL Princess, has taken to social media to address the stereotypes surrounding her sexuality.
The openly-gay singer revealed that contrary to popular opinion, she didn’t become a lesbian because she was heartbroken by a man or because she attended an all-girls school.
According to her, she was born a lesbian so she wasn’t influenced or cajoled into being gay. She noted that she has accepted herself for who she is.
Taking to Twitter, Temmie wrote,
“I’ve never had my heartbroken by a man, I didn’t attend an all girls’ school…
I grew up in Ilorin and I didn’t know other gay people existed for years, I was raised in church
Stereotypes are dumb, I’m a Lesbian because I was born this way and I choose to live my truth.”
