Kaduna State Police command has arrested 34 suspects involved in different crimes.
The state Commissioner of Police, Ahmad Abdurrahman, while briefing newsman in Kaduna said those arrested include nine (9) suspects for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery; sixteen (16) suspects for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery; six (6) suspects for criminal conspiracy armed robbery and cattle rustling; two (2) suspects for criminal conspiracy attempt to commit an offence to-wit kidnapping and being in possession of firearms; and one (1) suspect for criminal conspiracy, extortion, defamation of character and giving false information.
He explained, “Recently, we have embarked on intensive manhunt of bandits and other criminals that attack people while pursuing their normal businesses within the Command with a view to arresting and bringing all the culprits to book. This gallant determination could be seen in the recently launched ‘Operation Puff Adder’ by the Inspector General of Police IGP Mohammed Adamu Abubakar NPM, mni and the subsequent confidence building campaign the command vigorously carried out under my supervision
particularly along Kaduna – Abuja expressway.
“The efforts have recorded some successes with the arrest of thirty (34) suspects on different crimes and belonging to different suspected criminal gangs that terrorize citizens of the state.
“We have arrested nine (9) suspects for criminal conspiracy and armed robbery; sixteen (16) suspects for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery; six (6) suspects for criminal conspiracy armed robbery and cattle rustling; two (2) suspects for criminal conspiracy attempt to commit an offence to-wit kidnapping and being in possession of firearms; and one (1) suspect for criminal Conspiracy, extortion, defamation of character and giving false information.”
On criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, the Commissioner of Police gave names of the suspects as
Adamu Musa, male, 27 years,
Aliyu Bale a.k.a Alious, male, 29 years, Auwal Usman, male, 20 years and Zainab Mohammed a.k.a Grace, female, 21 years.
He explained that the suspects attacked one Sani Labaran ‘M’ of No.9 Kwararrafa Street Marafa qurters Kaduna and robbed him of 1 Sumsung S8 plus, N27,000 and assaulted the security guard, adding that they were armed with a locally made pistol and other dangerous weapons.
On criminal conspiracy and armed robbery, he said they include
Abdullahi Saidu, male, 27 years, Hamisu Danladi, male, 24 years, Ayuba Danladi, male, 30 years, Yunusa Adamu, male, 25 years and Nasiru Jauro, male, 20 years.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspects attacked the complainant on 11/04/2019 while he was returning to Gwantu from Jada Village and beat him to stupor and took away his motor cycle valued N 170,000 while two of the suspect are still at large.
He explained that on criminal conspiracy, kidnapping and armed robbery, the following suspects Yusuf A. lawal a.ka Auta, male, 20 years, Umar Bashir, male, 20 years and
Haruna Abubakar a.k.a Danzaki, male, 28 years were arrested.
He said the suspects have confessed to have been terrorizing Birnin Gwari road and have been involved in cattle rustling within the neighborhoods/surrounding villages.
“The ring leader one Bashir a.k.a Minister and four others are still at large. We are making effort to apprehend the fleeing suspects,” the Commissioner said.
On criminal conspiracy and kidnapping, he gave the names of the suspects as
Haruna Audu ‘M’ 29 years,
Lawan Adamu ‘M’ 35 years,
Ayuba Gaba ‘M’ 35 years,
Haruna Musa m 38 years, and
Abubakar Suleiman m 31 years.
Others are Auwal Haruna m 39 years, Yahaya Khalid m 35 years, Ibrahim Abdullahi m 26 years, Aliyu Kassim m 25 years, Lawal Adamu m 35 years, Haruna Audu m 25 years, Ayuba Gaba m 35yrs,
Abubakar Suleiman m 54yrs,
Bello Ibrahim m 20yrs,
Yakubu Shehu m 18yrs and
Abubakar Abdullahi m 20yrs.
The Commissioner of Police said the suspects have been terrorizing Saminaka axis, stressing that on 19th February, 2019, they were suspected to have conspired and kidnapped one Abdulazeez Aliyu a 9yr old child whose whereabout is still not yet identified.
He said, Sirajo A. Sale ‘M’ 30yrs,
Ibrahim Habibu ‘M’ 22yrs,
Sade A. Sale ‘M’ 30yrs,
Rabe Adamu ‘M’ 20yrs,
Adamu A. Sale ‘M’ 55yrs and
Sale Sade ‘M’ 28yrs are alleged to have rustled more than three hundred cattle and sheep and are all undergoing investigation.
He explained that investigations are ongoing and that they will soon be taken to court.
