An 18-year-old Gombe-born striker Sadiq Bappa, has signed a professional deal with Danish second Division side, Jammerbugt Football Club.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Bappa prior to the signing was a player of Mailantarki Care Football Academy in Gombe.
This is contained in a statement issued by Adamu Ahmed, the media officer of MCFA on Tuesday in Gombe.
Ahmed said that the three-year contract signed on Monday in Abuja is expected to end in 2025.
He said that the contract was secured following a scouting tournament organised by Mr Khamisu Mailantarki, the Chief Executive Officer of MCFA which was held in Abuja.
“Mailantarki Care Football Academy has announced the successful signing of a professional contract by one of our players who was successful in one of the scouting programme recently conducted and held in Gombe.
“Sadiq Muhammed Bappa, a highly rated and talented young star with amazing speed, precision, and technique signed the dotted lines for Danish side Jammerbugt FC for three years.
“The deal was signed in Abuja with Abdulrahman Baba, a representative of the club who concluded the deal with MCFA,” he said.
According to Ahmed, the player is expected to travel very soon to Denmark for the start of his professional career with the second-tier club.
He added that negotiation between MCFA and Jammerbugt FC was successful after reaching all the agreements provided in the contract papers for an undisclosed fee.
The media officer further confirmed to NAN that two other Gombe lads Sadiq Abdullahi and Umaru Muhammed also secured professional deals with the Danish club.
