The President, Mohammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, approved the appointment of Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive managing director of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
This was contained in a statement by the Ministry of Transportation and signed by the Director, Press and Public Relations of the ministry, Eric Ojiekwe.
According to the statement, the appointment takes immediate effect.
Prior to his appointment, Bello-Koko was the executive director of Finance and Administration of the NPA.
He has been in acting capacity since the suspension of the former MD, Hadiza Bala-Usman, who was suspended over alleged financial impropriety and official insubordination.
The statement read in part, “The President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, has approved the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Bello-Koko as the substantive Managing Director, Nigerian Ports Authority. The appointment takes immediate effect”
