A 35-year-old woman, Fatima Bammi, has been arrested by operatives of the Katsina State Police Command for allegedly supplying charms to terrorists.
Bammi of Daha forest, Danmusa Local Government Area of the state, was also alleged to be an informant to terrorists.
The spokesman for the state police command, Gambo Isah, confirmed the arrest at a press conference in Katsina on Thursday.
He disclosed that Bammi was arrested on February 13, 2022 based “on credible intelligence,” adding that items found on her during a search in her residence included some “criminal charms.”
Isah added, “In the course of investigation, some criminal charms were recovered from the suspects’ residence reasonably believed to be used for banditry activities where the suspect further confessed to supplying same to one Sani Mohidinge, a notorious terrorist bandit’s leader who has been on the command’s wanted list.”
The command’s spokesman also revealed that a combined team of the police, troops of the Nigerian Army and vigilante on February 22 repelled terrorists’ attack at Kurami village, Bakori Local Government Area of the state, where they recovered 149 cows and 33 sheep from the fleeing terrorists.
