An All Progressives Congress’ senator, Sani Musa, has appealed to the Ekiti State Governor and Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Dr Kayode Fayemi, to support his aspiration to become the next national chairman of the APC.
He made the call when he visited the governor in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State capital, on Tuesday.
While speaking on his mission for the party, Musa emphasised on the importance of making the APC a vibrant democratic institution that grooms leaders, formulates policy and ultimately wins elections.
He said, “It is my view that when those elected in government are doing their job, political parties should be busy working; organising retreats, exchange programmes, party conferences and peer reviews which in my candid opinion, are more important than waiting for elections or congress period to surface.
“In addition to this, one of the cardinal focal points that is dear to me personally is to strive to adapt to this participatory system where everyone will have a sense of belonging in the party.”
