The Kaduna State Police Command has allayed the fears of residents following the two incidents of bombing which occurred in the state on Sunday night.
The Command urged residents not to panic but to go about their normal businesses while assuring them that there was no cause for alarm.
The Police had on Monday confirmed that suspected Improvised Explosive Device rocked Dorina Hotel along Kabala West on Sunday night while another IED was recovered at a liquor joint on the same day.
The development forced the command on Tuesday to call on residents to report any suspicious object to the nearest security formations in the state.
According to the state Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammad Jalige, the command has launched investigation into the two incidents so as to unravel the faces of those behind the dastardly act.
Jalige also said that preliminary investigation showed that there was no life lost during the explosion at Dorina Hotel.
The police spokesman noted that there was no casualty of any sort as the said hotel was not functioning as of the time of the heinous incident.
He said, “On the 27th February 2022 at about 2130hrs, the Kaduna Police Command received a report through Divisional Police Officer Kabala West of an explosion caused by suspected Improvised Explosive Device at Dorino Hotel situated along Gidado Jumare Street Kabala West, Kaduna.
“The explosion caused a minimal damage to the Hotel external wall as well as the drainage system. No casualty of any sort as the said hotel was not operating as of the time of the heinous incident since there is an existing operational ban placed on the hotel by the Kaduna State Urban Planning Development Agency.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, CP Mudassiru Abdullahi psc (+), immediately dispatched the Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) unit to the scene to carry out a forensic analysis of the incident. The CP equally visited the scene for an on the spot assessment and ordered a continuous surveillance patrols across the state to forestall future occurrence.”
Jalige continued: “In another development, on the same date at about 2230hrs, the Command also received information about another suspected IED placed at Larry Breeze Bar located at Romi area of Chikun LGA, Kaduna State, where a crowd of football enthusiasts were watching a match.
“On the strength of the information, logistics and men were immediately mobilised to cordon the entire location while the EOD unit acted promptly in diffusing the said IED.
“The CP is urging residents of the state to report any suspicious object to the nearest security formation. He also advised the general public to go about their normal businesses as there is no cause for alarm.
“Investigation into the two separate incidents has since commenced to unravel the faces of those hells bent on putting apprehension in the minds of law abiding citizens.”
