Nigerian light-heavyweight fighter, Kennedy Nzechukwu, would be hoping to return to winning ways when he faces Romania’s Nicolae Negumereanu at UFC 272 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday.
The fight is billed to take place under the Colby Covington, Jorge Mashvidal main event.
The 29-year-old Nigerian-born fighter lost his last UFC fight via knockout (elbows) to South Korean Da Un Jung last November and will be returning to the Octagon for the first time since his loss to face Negumereanu who is unbeaten in his last two bouts.
Negumereanu was impressive in his last outing, knocking out Isaac Villanueva in just one minute and 18 seconds of the first round last October having previously beaten Aleksa Camur via split decision in June.
Before his loss to Da UnJung, Nzechukwu had recorded a unanimous decision win over Darco Stosic in 2019 before earning knockout wins over Carlos Ulberg in March 2021 and Danilo Marques in June 2021.
In 11 career Mixed Martial Arts fights, Nzechukwu recorded nine wins and two losses while his opponent has tasted one defeat in 12 MMA fights, recording 11 wins.
