Three suspected robbers have been reportedly burnt alive by an angry mob in Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State over alleged theft of musical equipment belonging to a local Disc Jockey (DJ).
Saturday PUNCH gathered that the incident occurred on Friday at Ofuoma community, near Afiesere, Ughelli.
Eyewitnesses said two suspected robbers were earlier nabbed and lynched in the locality on Wednesday morning.
However, on Friday, angry mob in Ofuoma community, near Afiesere in Ughelli were said to have descended on three suspected robbers and set them ablaze after they were reportedly caught trying to rob a boutique.
The suspects were said to have stolen DJ equipment worth millions of naira, prompting a community manhunt against them.
It was gathered that an indigene of the community said to be the gang leader confessed that his mother usually prepared charms for them before embarking on any mission.
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, told Saturday PUNCH that he is “not aware yet, but will find out”.
