Gunmen have attacked the convoy of a National Assembly member from Plateau State, Musa Agah.
PUNCH Metro gathered that Agah, who represents Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency, was with some family members and aides when the gunmen opened fire on his convoy along Twin Hill in Miango community, in the Bassa Local Government Area of the state.
However, while the lawmaker escaped unhurt, two persons riding on a motorbike in front of the convoy were killed by the attackers.
The National Secretary General of the Irigwe Development Association, Dickson Auta, confirmed the attack in a statement on Tuesday.
Dickson said, “Fulani terrorists ambushed Hon. Musa Agah Avia, member representing Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency and his aides this night along Twin Hill Miango.
“The Hon. member was inside the car with his wife, two kids, personal assistant and driver.
“One Hon. Hwenke Tuhu was also in his own car.
“They all escaped, but his (Agah) car was shattered with gunshots.
“Two others on a motorcycle who were ahead of them first encountered the ambush and were confirmed killed.”
The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, had last Thursday visited Miango community following incessant attacks and killings by gunmen in the area.
During the visit, the Irigwe and Fulani ethnic nationalities were made to sign a peace agreement.
