Actor, skit maker and activist, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has said he believes God created him to fight injustice.
He told Sunday Scoop, “I think that is how God created me. As a matter of fact, I like to think that the fame I have today is because God wants me to do that which I have always been doing.
“I have been doing this for as long as I can remember. It does not have to be with the government. If I am passing by and I see even a bit of injustice, I would want to talk about it. I like using my voice and position to speak for those that cannot speak for themselves.”
Asked if he had any intention to eventually run for an elective position, Macaroni laughed and said, “I am not thinking about that. I don’t know what the future holds but right now, I feel there is nothing bad in me doing what I am doing. I am using the platform God has given me to advocate for a better system that can benefit everyone, regardless of status. Every Nigerian deserves to be treated with love, respect and dignity.”
Asked about the wedding pictures he took with his co-skit actor, Kemi Ikuseedun, aka Mummy wa, he said, “Daddy wa is one of my online characters. We did the photoshoot as an advert for wedding vendors.”
On if he gets threats because of his advocacy and activism, Adedayo said, “Yes, I receive a lot of threats; whether from politicians or their aides. However, I am undeterred. I believe strongly in what we are doing, which is using our voice to speak up for a better nation.”
