Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo Thursday presented a ball and a signed Leganes jersey to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), who is on an official visit to Spanish President, Pedro Sanchez, The PUNCH reports.
The Special Assistant to the President on Digital and New Media, Tolu Ogunlesi, posted videos and pictures of the event on Twitter.
Buhari was accompanied by top members of his cabinet, which included the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, and the Special Adviser to the President on Football Matters, Daniel Amokachi, for the three-day visit.
Buhari, who is expected back in Nigeria on Friday (today), made a joke of Omeruo’s height while the pair stood for a photograph at the event.
“I hope you are not taller than me,” Buhari teased the 2013 AFCON winner.
Omeruo has 57 caps with two goals to his name and represented Nigeria at two World Cups and three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
