The National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has endorsed repeat of elections in Lagos, Imo, Benue, and Katsina States.
In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Debo Ologunagba, on Saturday, clarified that the decision was reached following thorough deliberation on the reports of the electoral and appeal councils on the elections conducted in the aforementioned states.
Elections for the Ahiazu and Orsu State Constituencies in Imo State have been slated for Sunday, June 5, 2022.
Elections for the Musawa, Zango, and Dandume State Constituencies in Katsina State, Oru East/Orsu/Orlu Federal Constituency in Imo State, and Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency in Benue State will also be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022.
The Lagos State House of Representatives Primary (24 Federal Constituencies) has been slated for Monday, June 6, 2022.
The statement read in part: “Furthermore, the Kaduna Central Senatorial District of Kaduna State, Enugu West Senatorial District of Enugu State, as well as the Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency and Yakuur II State Constituency, both of Cross River State earlier scheduled for Saturday, June 4, 2022, have been cancelled.
The party said that the changes were for the consideration of affected states.
“All party members in the affected states should please take note,” the statement said.
