Socialite, Mike Nwogu, aka Pretty Mike, has said his recent stunt in which a scantily clad lady was carrying a cross while other similarly dressed women were beating her has nothing to do with Jesus Christ, contrary to what many have said that the stunt was a reenactment of the crucifixion of Jesus.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Pretty Mike said, “We are in an era of freedom of expression. No matter how good or bad one is, one can never please everybody.
“Also, I don’t think there is anything that has been done anywhere in the world, whether it is movie or book, that is similar to anything that had to do with Christ that has not been controversial.
“There is so much controversy around the stunt and I hate the fact that when people see crucifixion of any type, the first thing that goes to their mind is Jesus. They have forgotten that back in the day, crucifixion was a common punishment meted out to people.”
Speaking further, Nwogu said, “I don’t have the right to ridicule anybody’s religion. People just want to talk because they want to incite negative comments. For me, I think they are the ones actually ridiculing Christianity.
“They seem to forget that I’m also a Christian. I keep telling everybody that anyone who has no sin should cast the first stone. Meanwhile, I have also got quite a number of positive comments from those that liked what I portrayed.”
The controversial nightclub owner also stated that marriage is currently in his plans, and it might actually happen this year.
Asked what kind of woman he would love to marry, he said, “A woman who has been given to me by God. It will be someone that is understanding and has the right attitude.
