Two people were reportedly killed in a road accident on Saturday along the Ondo-Ore Expressway at Asewele in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, Mr Ezekiel Sonallah, said the accident happened on Friday.
According to him, the accident involved a Toyota Priva bus with registration number REL937XA and a truck with registration number BDJ476XG.
He said the cause of the crash was loss of concentration and speed limit violation on the part of the drivers of the vehicles involved.
He said, “Seven people were involved in the accident, while two died – a male and a female adults.
“The injured victims were taken to the General Hospital, Ore, while the corpses were deposited at a hospital in Ore.”
Similarly, when contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami, also confirmed the development, but said some cows also died in the accident.
“Two people died and five people were injured in the accident. Also about four cows died in the accident. The people that were injured are already receiving treatment in the hospital,” the PPRO stated.
