The Kano State Government on Monday banned the operations of tricycle operators, popularly known in Kano as “A Daidata Sahu,” after 10pm.
According to a statement issued by the state Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, the ban takes effect from Thursday, July 21, 2022.
The decision, according to the statement, was reached at the end of the state security meeting.
“The measure was part of efforts to ensure the security of lives and property in the state,” the statement read.
The government urged tricycle operators to comply and stop operating beyond the stipulated time, warning that security agents would strictly enforce the ban.
The PUNCH reported that in recent times, hoodlums have been and are still using tricycles to perpetrate their nefarious activities in the state.
