The member representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwode Federal Constituency in Edo State, Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, has expressed optimism that the 9th National Assembly would better the lives of Nigerians.
Aisowieren, who is returning to the Green Chamber, said the emergence of Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as Senate President and Speaker respectively, would make sure the executive and the legislator are always on the same page so that they can smoothen governance in the country.
Speaking to DAILY POST in Benin City, the state capital, the lawmaker said the newly inaugurated members of NASS were in a hurry to see changes that would have direct impact on the lives of the people.
Hon. Aisowieren, who spoke through, his legislative aide, Liberty Ruyi, stated that the anxiety that existed between the 8th NASS and the executive would be absent in the 9th assembly.
According to him, “İt is for this purpose that we, the new 9th NASS members inaugurated are resolute to get things right especially as it concerns the election of principal members of the house.
“At the party (APC) level, we have the candidates that were presented to us, just as we have our own individual preferences. But we have decided to align ourselves with the party’s preference because majority of us consider them to be our individual preferences.
“A lot have been said and done in time past; it is now time to see action especially as regards direct impact on the lives of the people in our various constituencies. My people will fill my impact more than before, I want to touch and change a lot.
He noted that, the present NASS will corporate with Nigerians, especially the executive, to make policies that will strength institutions to improve on the nations security, economic, and every facets of our national life.
