A socio-political group, the Renaissance Initiative, has commended the military and other security agencies for collaborating to apprehend those behind the dastardly attack in Owo, Ondo State.
The Chief of Defence Staff, General Lucky Irabor, had during a parley with Editors and Media Executives in Abuja last Tuesday announced that one Idris Omeiza, the mastermind of the attack was arrested alongside four others.
Also, the next day, the military disclosed that the duo of Al-Qasim Idris and Abdulhaleem Idris were arrested at the Omialafara (Omulafa), Ose LGA in Ondo State during a joint operation with the DSS, Police.
The group in a statement on Monday by its National General Secretary, Abdullahi Gombe, said the arrest was an assurance that very soon the country would return to normal, urging them to intensify efforts to apprehend others linked with the attack.
The statement partly read, “We are relieved that the bombers of Owo Catholic Church have been captured. We commend the military and security operatives for the laudable feat. This is an assurance that very soon the country would return to normal.
“We urged the various security agencies to intensify efforts to capture those on the run.
“We also want to call on Nigerians to support the military and other security operatives.
“The evil plot of the criminal elements is to instill fear in Nigerians and make us take abnormality as a way of life. Indeed, the Armed Forces of Nigeria has continued to let the enemies of the country know that their evil desire for the country is unacceptable.”
