A Nigerian disc jockey, Olayinka Olaifa, known better as DJ Cora, has said that Nigerian musicians will soon dominate the Grammys Award and other global recognition platforms.
DJ Cora, who is also the Founder of Cora Entertainment, said his optimism was based on the quality of work Nigerian musicians bring to the entertainment industry worldwide.
Commenting on the music industry growth while speaking on his new project “Nibo beat” on Wednesday, the dick jockey noted that apart from the contribution of quality music by Nigerian musicians, they are also giving younger talents the needed opportunity to thrive.
He added that with the right type of support, Nigerian and African artistes, in general, will continue to dominate the music scene globally.
He said, “African artistes are among the best in the world considering the type of quality and value they have added to the industry.
“Apart from singing, they have also taken their craft further by championing great causes and also established thriving record labels through which they have given younger artistes solid chances to shine.
“With this standard, it won’t take time before they start dominating the Grammys and other respected music awards around the world.”
On his future plans, DJ Cora, a native of Afijeo Local Government in Oyo State but raised in Lagos, noted Cora Entertainment would sign artistes under its record label.
“Although I am yet to disclose their details, soon I will. This is the type of impact Nigerian DJ’s are having that is making them leaders in the industry in Africa.”
DJ Cora became a household name in September 2021 after dropping a hit mix titled “Yeye beat“ featuring star actor, Odunlade Adelekola.
