Ahead of the March 9 Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections in Nigeria, the police has warned politicians and their supporters against acts capable of breaching peace before, during and after the exercise.
This is as the police has also vowed to deal with trouble makers in an attempt to disrupt the conduct of the election.
The Bauchi State Police Commissioner, Ali Aji Janga gave the warning in Bauchi while addressing reporters.
“The command will not tolerate break down of law and order from any of the supporters of the political parties, ” said Janga.
The police command assured that all the security agencies working to ensure a peaceful election in the state.
” The police in collaboration with other security agencies will provide adequate security and level playing field for all political actors during the election just like they did in the Presidential/National Assembly election,” Janga assured.
Earlier, the police commissioner had vowed to neutralise trouble makers who are desperate to work against the electoral laws in order to ensure a hitch-free election.
” The command will deploy its men in all nooks and crannies of the state to protect life and property of citizens” Janga stress.
