Aviation workers are currently protesting in Lagos, just as their counterparts are protesting in other parts of the country.
The PUNCH reported Sunday that the unions in the aviation sector had directed their members to “embark on peaceful rallies/public demonstrations at all airports in Nigeria to demand the expunging of obnoxious Essential Service clauses from the Bills/Acts of the aviation agencies” on Monday.
The workers held banners and placards with several inscriptions and sang solidarity songs as they marched on the streets of Lagos.
The nationwide protest is convened under the banners of the National Union of Air Transport Employees; Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria; Association of Nigerian Association Professionals; Amalgamated Unions of Public Corporations; Civil Service Technical & Recreational Services Employees, and the National Association of Aircraft Pilots and Engineers.
