Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State has condoled the Senator representing Kano South, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya over the death of his son, Sadiq Kabiru Gaya.
Sadiq, a lawyer with Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria died on Tuesday afternoon in Abuja and had since been buried in accordance with the Islamic rites.
The condolence message was contained in a statement by Abba Anwar, the Chief Press Secretary to Ganduje, a copy of which was made available to The PUNCH on Wednesday.
After describing the deceased as disciplined, righteous and a man of the people, Ganduje said, “Though we all loved him, Allah loves him the most.
“Ours is to pray for him to get Allah’s Forgiveness and Jannah.”
“On behalf of the government and good people of Kano state, we are sending our condolences to our Distinguished Senator, Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya and his entire family members for the great loss,” he said.
Ganduje prayed, “May Allah Subhanahu Wata’ala forgive all his shortcomings and reward his good deeds. We received the information of his death with shock.”
The governor was in Senator Gaya’s residence in Abuja and commiserate with him and the family, saying that “…the loss was not only for the Senator and his family, but to us, as a government and the state as a whole.”
Recall that Senator Gaya, a former governor of Kano State, lost his wife, Halima, in May 2020.
