Three men who allegedly stole a company’s property on Friday appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the defendants are Ali Mosuru, 20; Anthony Elson, 27; and Abdullahi Sulaimon, 20.
They are standing trial on a two-count charge of stealing and conspiracy to receive stolen property.
They, however, pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Dr Simon Uche, told the court that the defendants committed the offences on August 8, alongside others at large.
He alleged that the defendants conspired to steal property belonging to a company known as Von and located at Volks area of Ojo.
NAN reported that the company is said to be represented by Mr Edwin Illobi.
According to the prosecutor, the stolen property include batteries, cables and iron rods valued at N2.8 million.
The alleged offences contravene the provisions of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.
The Magistrate, Mr L. K. Layeni, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum
The NAN further reported that the magistrate adjourned the case until October 26 for mention.
