The South-West Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party, Seyi Bamidele, on Friday said the national chairman of the party, Dr. Iyorcha Ayu, has become unfit to continue in office as chairman of the party.
Bamidele in a statement obtained in Osogbo aligned himself with the position of Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde, and others demanding Ayu’s resignation.
According to him, Ayu and those supporting him have proved to be selfish and thought they could win the presidential election without help.
He then called on Ayu to resign or the party leadership showed him the way out in the interest of the PDP.
The statement further read, “The National Chairman of our party has become unfit to continue in office as chairman in the interest of fairness, peace and justice in the party.
“I align myself with the position of the leader of the party in the South West, Governor Seyi Makinde and all other leaders of good thinking and standing. What they have been advocating is in our interest as young elements in the party.”
