…restates loyalty to Atiku, Dankwambo
The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, on Sunday, warned the former Minister of Police Affairs, Adamu Waziri, alleging that he meddled in the affairs of the party in the state by sponsoring a protest against the immediate past Governor of the state, Ibrahim Dankwambo.
The party reaffirmed its loyalty to the party’s Presidential Candidate in the forthcoming 2023 General Elections, Atiku Abubakar, and identified with the leadership of Dankwambo.
According to Gombe State Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Murtala Usman, while reacting to the protest by a group of youths allegedly sponsored by Waziri, who stormed the state party secretariat protesting against Ibrahim Dankwambo, he described it as worrisome.
Usman said, “Today, the Peoples Democratic Party’s office was stormed by some disgruntled element sponsored by a PDP stalwart from Yobe State to blackmail our party leader, Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (Talban Gombe) and to cause disaffection and chaos within the party in Gombe State.
“The sponsor, who contested elections many times in Yobe State and could not win any, is a well-known sell-out candidate and a political merchant.
“He should go and concern himself with the political crisis bedeviling Yobe State and should stop undue interference into the political affairs of Gombe state.”
While reiterating the chapter’s loyalty to Atiku Abubakar’s presidential aspiration, the party noted that Dankwambo’s position as leader was unshakable, stressing that the party’s goal remained to win both presidential and gubernatorial elections in the state.
“The party leadership in Gombe State is 100 percent loyal to the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar (Wazirin Adamawa). We also want to make it clear to all our teaming supporters that we totally believe in the leadership of Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo (Tolban Gombe) as our party leader and a staunch supporter of PDP from top to bottom. Our avowed commitment is to win the 2023 election at all levels as a party,” Usman added.
