There is heavy traffic on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Saturday evening, following the one-way route taken by an unidentified convoy approaching Berger on the long bridge.
According to the Federal Road Safety Corps Unit Commander, Mowe Unit, Deja Abdullahi, the traffic got worsened by the action of the convoy.
As of the time of filing this report, the traffic has gone beyond PUNCH place and extending towards Mowe.
Both lanes ‘to and fro’ Berger are currently blocked.
“The road is blocked and it’s due to VIP moving on the expressway with their escort and they refused to obey simple rule of driving on the normal way. They are all driving against traffic,” Abdulahi said.
Abdulahi also noted that his men could not intervene much as the convoy was armed.
The PUNCH gathered that men of the Mobile Police were with the the escort.
Detail of the VIP(s) being escorted could not be ascertained.
