Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has said that arrangements for the recruitment of primary school teachers have been concluded.
According to the statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Terver Akase, the governor said that the recruitment process was being handled by the State Universal Basic Education Board.
This is just as he said that his administration’s commitment to education was anchored on making education at all levels strong.
He stated that part of measures his administration had taken to promote education in the state were, among others: to provide conducive learning environment for teachers and students, and promotion of teachers.
The statement read in part, “Following Governor Ortom’s approval, the Benue State Teaching Service Board, TSB, has commenced the process of recruiting additional teachers to fill existing vacancies in public secondary schools across the state.
“Arrangements for the recruitment of primary school teachers are also being concluded by the State Universal Basic Education Board.
“Through the partnership with Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, the Benue State Government under Governor Ortom has, in the last seven years, executed over 1,000 primary school projects across the state.
“In addition to the development of school infrastructure, the present administration has been providing thousands of customized desks and chairs for primary school pupils in the state.”
