Singer, Solomon Adewole, aka Adol Orin, has said he took a break from the spotlight after he made some bad decisions concerning his record label, but he is back to create more hit songs.
He added that he had been trying to work on himself and build his mental health.
The singer, who was previously known as Adol, said he had adopted a new name, Adol Orin.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, he said, “I have been genuinely trying to work and build myself mentally. You know sometimes when one makes a few bad decisions in terms of labels, one needs to take a break because of one’s mental health. So, I did just that to come back stronger.”
On why Afrobeats is gaining prominence over other genres of music, Adewole said “Afrobeats is eating up other genres because of its globally palatable sound and aesthetics, which represent the spirit of modern Africa.”
He also spoke on what he would do differently now that he was back in the industry, saying, “I will keep dishing out great hits, not taking bad decisions that might crumble things for me and I’ll be more consistent than ever. Fulfilment as a musician is not in my diary at the moment as I’m so far from it”.
Speaking on his assessment of the music industry now to when he first started, he said, “The music industry has changed dramatically over the past years and the way people listen to music now has shifted significantly. I will say it’s a good thing.”
