The Peoples Democratic Party, Kaduna State chapter, on Wednesday, inaugurated a 60-member presidential campaign council with the former governor Ramalan Yero as its Chairman ahead of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar’s three days visit.
Inaugurating the council members at the Party Secretariat, the State Party Chairman, Hassan Hyat, said the committee members must work vigorously in ensuring PDP’s victory in 2023.
He said the party in Kaduna was waxing stronger with the presidential campaign already flagged off in Akwa Ibom State.
Hyat said with the peculiarity of Kaduna, Atiku would be in the state for three working days on special assignments where he would interface with key stakeholders of the party across the three Senatorial Zone.
“We already had meetings with all the gubernatorial aspirants including the Gubernatorial Candidate in the State on their roles ahead of the Presidential candidate’s visit.
Hyat assured members of the party that nobody will be left behind, whether their name was shortlisted or not, urging them to make themselves available when their attention is needed.
In his remarks, the Campaign council Chairman, Ramalan Yero, commended the party for the confidence repose on him and the entire members, assuring members of the party and Kaduna residents of their willingness to give their best in order to make Kaduna proud.
“We’re not doing this for anybody but for ourselves. There is no time by our side. I have confidence that a lot of us have the experience to carry out the responsibility attached to us.
He said the campaign council was adopting a new strategy to ensure massive votes for the victory of the party both in the State and at the National ahead of the 2023 general elections.
