Seun Egbegbe, 44, is a well-known filmmaker in the Yoruba sector of the Nollywood industry. On February 10, 2017, he was arrested for alleged fraud.
However, a Federal High Court, Ikoyi in Lagos, found Mr. Seun Egbegbe guilty of just one of the 44 counts charges against him and set him free about two weeks ago.
In an interview with BBC Yoruba, Seun Egbegbe disclosed that he did not involve in any fraud but was thankful to God almighty for the experience he had in prison as he has now become a born-again Christian.
He noted that while in prison, many of his friends deserted him and left him to his fate. He revealed that his next project is to set up a foundation to cater to the needs of prisoners across the country because he knows their condition and what they are facing because of his experience at Ikoyi maximum prison.
